“So... The main character is Daniel, who destroyed his own memory. All he knows is that he has to kill this guy named Alexander and that something is hunting him.”

“Yep.”

“And he travels through Brennenburg castle, and is constantly chased by monsters like the mooseman and stuff.”

“Basically.”

“Right. And there's different ways to end the game, but the one we need to do is where we knock over the pillars.”

“You've got it.”

I heaved a sigh and nodded, standing up from the tree stump I had been using as a chair.

“Ok then. Anything else in particular I need to know?” I asked. Mark looked up, thinking for a moment before shaking his head.

“Nope. Not that I can think of, at least. Like I said, it's been a long time since I've played the original Amnesia.” I shrugged.

“It's good enough I guess.” I told him, hitching up my skirt a bit so I could walk through the rough terrain.

“Do you think we'll have to lose our memories?” I asked after a few minutes of walking.

“I don't know. It's possible.” Mark admitted.

“What should we do?” I asked, stopping before we entered the castle. Mark stopped as well, adjusting his ascot.

“We could write down notes to ourselves, like in the game.” he suggested.

“How much should we write down?” I asked.

“Well, we'll remember everything by the time we get back to my room; so I guess just the basics.” Mark told me. I nodded and called out for the items shop, searching for some basic pens and papers.

Within ten minutes, Mark and I had both finished our letters to ourselves. I carefully folded my letter and handed it to Mark, who took both our letters and stuffed them in his coat pocket.

“I think we're ready now.” I told him. Mark nodded, reaching for the door handle.

“Here goes nothing, then.” He said as he opened the door.

We stepped into the enormous hallway, our steps becoming muffled by the red carpet that covered the floor. Shining coats of arms adorned the walls along with flags featuring various symbols. The doors closed behind us with a thump, and we became enshrouded in thick darkness.

“Mark, you still got your memories?” I asked.

“Who?” Mark replied. I turned toward his general direction and gasped. Mark however, laughed. “Just kidding. I've still got it all. I guess it was a false alarm.”

“Not quite, my pets.” Creepyplier's voice called out all around us. I looked up and readied myself for an attack, grabbing hold of my pocket knife and switching open the blade. It didn't do much though, as I felt myself passing out out soon afterwards.

I struggled to maintain my focus, I couldn't lose my memories. Letters or no letters, I had to remember; I just had to!

“My name... is... Leila.” I told myself. “I live at.... uh...” I shook my head, falling to my knees and barely registering another figure doing the same. “My name is... is... Leila. My name is Leila. My name is... Leila? My name... My name...” I blinked and laid down on the floor, my eyes burning as I tried to keep them open. But it was only a matter of moments before I blacked out.

I awoke as the bright rays of sunlight were just beginning to burst through the windows. I moaned, wishing I could go back to sleep.

“Ugh, what happened last night?” A voice asked to my left. I gasped, sitting upright and turning towards the sound. Before me sat a man in his twenties, wearing some sort of 18th century suit and ascot. His hair was slicked backwards, and white gloves covered his hands. A top hat laid by his side, along with a pair of glasses and a walking cane. Something in the back of my mind told me that I knew this man, but I couldn't think of his name. Trying to remember hurt my brain, and I held the side of my head in one hand, turning away as I tried to ease the pain.

“Well, hello Baybeh~.” The man said suavely. “What's your name?” I looked back at him, he was staring straight at me. As I racked my brain to answer his question, reality hit my like a stone brick. Not only could I not remember his name, but I seemed to have also forgotten my own.

“I... I don't know.” I admitted anxiously. “Who... Who are you?” I cautiously scooted a bit further from him, realizing that I was somehow currently in a dress. The man was about to respond when be blinked, apparently confused as he looked down.

“Heh... You know I'm actually not quite sure.” He told me. I took a deep breath, trying not to panic as I tried to think about our situation.

'Ok, don't panic.' I told myself. 'You're obviously suffering from some kind of amnesia. Amnesia wears off eventually... I think...' I shook my head angrily, closing my eyes as the man stood up and looked himself over.

'Ok, we still have talking and probably walking, so that's good. Basic motor functions still intact. No name, but that's pretty common for amnesiacs... Maybe.' I gritted my teeth in frustration, I was bringing myself down.

“Hey, um... L-Leila, right?” The man called out. I opened my eyes in shock. That name clicked, it was my name. I looked up at the man; he was standing above me and holding a small bundle of papers, one of which he was examining closely. “I found these in my pocket. I think this one's yours.” He handed me a most of the bundle, and I cautiously took it from his hands. I looked down at the neatly folded paper, opening it and taking in its words.

Leila.

This letter has been written in case I lose my memories when I enter the castle of Brennenburg. That is where you are now, by the way. Allow me to explain some questions you no doubt have by this point. I am you from mere minutes ago, before I lost my memories.

Your name is Leila.

You are sixteen years old, and you will be seventeen in two days. Happy birthday :)

Hopefully you have found yourself near a man with slicked-back dark hair, and 18th century clothing. If not, find him immediately. His name is Markiplier (call him Mark), and he is very important.

He has sort of an evil twin, named Creepyplier. He's trapped you and Mark inside of a computer. Yes, you're in a computer right now; get over it. You have more important things to worry about. For instance:

Don't worry about things in the long run. By the time you're out of here you'll have all of your memories back. Right now, all I want you to worry about is killing Alexander of Brennenburg. Yes, I know it sounds morbid, but it is something that you have to do.

Also, I've recently regained my pocket knife; find it now.

I looked down from the letter and searched the floor, soon locating a small, black, rectangular oval. I snatched it, noticing that 'Mark' was reading his own letter.

Make sure you don't lose that pocket knife. It will be very useful in the future, I think. And besides, that's my favorite pocket knife. Anyway...

You can get yourself new things by saying: 'Weapons Shop' or 'Items Shop'. Keep in mind; this may not always work. Also, you have a Hammerspace which can hold a near-infinite amount of items. I'm not sure where it's hidden inside that dress, but I'm sure it's there somewhere. Now then, some things to remember:

Your name. Don't forget it, It's Leila.

Mark is important. Stay close to him, trust his judgment (unless he's being an idiot again), and don't leave him behind. He may be a weird guy, but he'll protect you from harm.

Mark can respawn if he dies, but you won't. Be careful out there.

Staying in the dark and seeing scary things will lower your sanity. Stay in the light, complete puzzles, and just keep moving forward; you'll be fine. Also there are sanity potions throughout the castle, find those and they will help.

If you do get hurt, find Laudanum. It will heal you.

Tinderboxes are for lighting candles and lamps. Find, collect, and don't waste them.

Find a lantern and don't let Mark hold it; he will waste the oil.

Chairs are your friends.

Hide from Moosemen weird-looking creatures, noise attracts them.

You have a sister named Rose; she and a friend of Mark's named Yamimash (Yami) are helping you from outside the computer. She may call your phone to talk to you(which might prove useful in finding your pockets). Ask her for more information about yourself if you feel the need to know.

Good luck, Leila. I have a feeling we're going to need it.

End Chapter 20~! ^.^

:iconmikuplz::iconsaysplz:  We're so sorry for the wait!  We've had a lot of trouble trying to define their new personalities what with the memory loss.  For instance, Mark has changed a lot over the course of his Youtubing, and I'm not so sure Leila will be as wary of him anymore.  There is a lot to consider as to how much they remember, whether what is said in the letters will be enough for them; and not to mention what is going on with Rose and Yami at the time.  Also, one of us is still in school and the other recently gained some new responsibilities that take up a lot of her time and energy.  We've had a busy schedule recently, so we've been unable to type very much in any of our stories.  We're are hoping to update some things in our gallery by Saturday however, so we hope you will enjoy when the time comes!

I'm realy sorry if I sound/was too pressing. I don't want you to rush into writing. I mean... I want you to write so I can read more but in your own pace, ok? I just hope everything is alright :)
I know it's hard to think about things like lost memory... my sister have character who loose almost 2 years worth of memories and believe me it wasn't pretty. We need to think hard for quite some time how to solve this problem in middle of incomming battle. So... if I may give advice (even if it's not really advice). When you come up with how much memories they lost (which probably will be a little before Darkiplier enter the scene... or else) you need to make another character based on first. Why's that? Because it's easier (for me for example. no need listening to old lady babling about). You're making character just like first (because you know tricks you learn first time around) just not in game (in your case - not running around, almost killing themself at daily basis and stuff). It's still tricky because they can remember stuff they don't remember doing, have habbits with each other that don't work anymore and act reflexively. Yeah... pretty funny stuff.
Aaand that wasn't really helping with anything now, was it?
